HURRICANE HARVEY DIRECT ASSISTANCE FOR LIMITED HOME REPAIR (DALHR) PROGRAM
The Direct Assistance for Limited Home Repair (DALHR) Program administered by The General Land Office (GLO) provides permanent repairs for homeowners with moderate damages who needed available housing resources after Hurricane Harvey. Qualified homes received damages of at least $17,000 and up to $60,000 as well as received 18 inches of water or more in the home.
Our capability and experience with both rehabilitation and reconstruction services and our experience with FEMA and HUD CDBG programs allowed us to be selected by The General Land Office (GLO) to provide construction services in support of the DALHR Program for residents of Texas that were impacted by Hurricane Harvey. JWTC was selected to perform the first ever FEMA DALHR Program House in US history.
JWTC completed 30+ rehabilitation DALHR projects within the 90-day required schedule with special considerations taken in terms of accessibility for those with disabilities, older adults, and care in handling the needs of lower income groups. Repairs under the program included repairs to floors, walls, and ceilings. plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Participants were located in one of the following counties designated for Direct Housing: Aransas, Austin, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Lavaca, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Refugio, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Tyler, Victoria, Walker, Waller and Wharton.
